The APGA Research Foundation focuses on Operations Technology Development Company (OTD) in a collaborative effort with U.S. utilities are combining interests, expertise, and resources as well as end-use research and development (R&D) through its membership in Utilization Technology Development (UTD).  UTD is a not-for-profit corporation led by its twelve members (including the APGA RF) who serve over 20 million natural gas consumers in 32 states and Canada and the OTD is a not-for-profit Illinois company.  This approach assists in alignment of energy efficiency improvements, green house gas reductions, and customer retention for the natural gas industry and no single company is responsible for carrying the entire financial burden. In addition, participants benefit from input from numerous sources, address common regulatory issues, and serve to demonstrate the broad industry support needed to gain the interest of potential product manufacturers.
