Mike Tadros


Bio

Mike was named the General Manager of Underground Utilities for the City Of Tallahassee in April 2008. In this role, He is responsible for all aspects of the operations of the City’s Natural Gas, Water, Wastewater, and Storm Water Utilities. Underground Utilities serves over 270,000 customers in three counties, with a total annual operating budget of $142 million.
He started his career in 1975 at the Petroleum Pipeline Company in Alexandria, Egypt, where he held numerous roles including an off-shore production engineer, project engineer, and a lead QA/QC engineer for major natural gas transmission pipeline projects. In 1988, Mike moved to the United State where joined the City of Tallahassee as a Gas Engineer and in 1993, he was named Manager of Gas Engineering, where he was responsible for developing strategies and solutions to expand the City’s gas system. He has more than 41 years of experience of production, transmission and distribution of natural gas.
He received his Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from Alexandria University, Egypt- Collage of Engineering, a CPM from Florida State University.
Under his leadership Underground utilities is the first Public Utility in the State of Florida to be the recipient of the Florida Sterling Council’s 2015 Florida Governor’s Sterling Award designating the department as a role model organization.
Mike served on the Geospatial Information & Technology Association (GITA) Advisory Board 2006-2008. He also serves as Second Vice President of the Florida Natural Gas Association, which represents 37 public and investor-owned gas systems in Florida and a Board Member of the American Public Gas Association Research Foundation, which represents nearly 900 publicly-owned gas systems in America. He is an immediate Past President of the Florida Municipal Natural Gas Association.

He is married to Teresa and has a son and a daughter
